Shangqiu Melan Bio-engineering Co., Ltd. is a recognized high-tech enterprise, with a group of skilled and experienced R & D team, the company's existing staff of 105 people, of which, 73% of the total number of scientific and technological personnel. There are 27 scientific and technological researchers with middle title or above. There are 23 postgraduate degree holders and 25 undergraduate degree holders, who have been engaged in the R&D and production of veterinary drugs and vaccines for many years.

Melan Bio R&D Center always focuses on the market demand for the development of new products and new technologies, and has good cooperation with many domestic and foreign institutions, such as Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in the United States, University of Hannover College of Animal Medicine in Germany, School of Zoological Medicine of China Agricultural University, School of Zoological Medicine of Nanjing Agricultural University, and so on. In 2019, it was recognized as “New R&D Institution of Henan Province”.
Research inputs and research outputs
The company keeps abreast of the new trends in the development of veterinary vaccines, pays close attention to the new processes and results of veterinary vaccines, and constantly increases its investment in scientific research, taking more than 5% of its annual sales as the research and development funds for new products and new processes development projects. In recent years, the company has invested a total of 50 million yuan in the development of new products, and established a new product development center, with inverted fluorescence microscope, carbon dioxide incubator, biochemical incubator, enzyme labeling instrument, PCR instrument, conductivity meter, high-performance liquid chromatography, one hundred thousandth of a precision electronic analytical balance, protein electrophoresis, accounting electrophoresis, gel imager, laser particle sizing and other testing equipment and NBS Cell suspension culture tank, Millipore ultrafiltration machine, Fluke emulsifier and other product preparation equipment. R&D center has undertaken more than 10 provincial and municipal scientific research projects, such as major scientific and technological research in Henan Province, major key technology needs of Henan Province, Henan Province, opening-up cooperation projects, innovation demonstration special projects, etc.; up to now, more than 100 patents have been authorized, of which more than 60 are invention patents; 5 certificates of new veterinary drugs; 4 scientific and technological progress awards; 26 scientific and technological achievements in Henan Province.
